Will Barclaycard pay for eBay-puchased tickets not received in post?

Hello,

I hope I'm posting the right place?

I bought some festival tickets on ebay 2 weeks before the festival date for £320. The seller sent the tickets recorded delivery to my address (and I have received his proof of postage) but the tickets never arrived, and the festival has now been and gone. The seller stated in his sale that he would send the tickets 1st class standard delivery but charged £5 for this service. The actual postage cost for recorded delivery was £1.08 as seen on his receipt. Royal Mail wont do anything about it until 15 working days have passed, and even then they dont insure tickets under recorded delivery. They said he should have sent them special delivery so they could be tracked and this would have cost £5. Paypal will insure my purchase but only up to £150 because the seller has less that 50 ratings. So I'm now trying Barclaycard.

Anyone got any advice/knowledge about whether I'm likely to get a full refund?

Many thanks,
cenmlj

Sounds like you have a good case. Contact Barlcaycard. You'll probably need the Disputes team there, unless the customer service team can look into it themselves.

If it's lost in the post, Barclaycard will send you packing pretty quickly. They'd only come into play if the company you purchased from suddenly went bust (as they have no choice under the Consumer Credit Act).

Your only hope is the Royal Mail, and as they were not sent special delivery, you won't get the full value back.

Special Delivery next day is £5.05...for the sake of a few quid I would have told the seller to send them this way, as it will now cost you a small fortune.

Don't waste your time with Barclaycard as they are in no way liable in relation to this.

I have found credit cards very unhelpful with Paypal issues.

However, the Royal Mail is on its August go slow so you may get your tickets this week.

Tickets are not covered by the Recorded delivery scheme. The most the OP would get back is a book of stamps.
