Yahoo/google email problem

Hi, not sure if this is just me but i cant seem to open my yahoo email or google mail on my computer. I can access the internet as normal but then it freezes but when i log on to yahoo it just seems to stall same happens to gmail.
Anyone know how i can sort this out. I thought it was a problem with yahoo originally.
This seems to have happened after i updated my java and i get search pop ups. I also read somewhere the Yahoo home page was changed but i'm not sure if that had anything to do with it

goto the java homepage and try reinstalling the latest version:idea:0
