A gang posed as engineers to gain access to credit and laser card sales terminals in Irish shops.

An investigation is underway into the theft of payment-card details from around 20,000 bank customers in Ireland.

Just how big is the problem?

If you've used any sort of plastic in a Chip & PIN device in a shop in Ireland recently - check your statements.

To prevent your PIN being compromised and crooks hitting ATM's get yourself Chip & Signature Credit Cards. An additional plus is you'll never be asked, how did the crook get your PIN. No cardholder liability.
