Sorry for being a bit thick but staged payments versus monthly payments...what's the difference?...

Let's assume you are required to pay £300 per quarter as a Service Charge.

Under monthly payments, you could pay £100 per month and as long as sufficient money had been paid by the time the money was due, the management company probably wouldn't mind (even though they have the added expense of receiving & accounting for that money on a monthly basis)

Under staged payments, you could pay £100 on the day the £300 was due, another £100 a month later and another £100 a month after that. This is the format you seem to have assumed the management company has agreed to. However, the management company may need to settle invoices soon after it expects the payments to be received in full, so if you and others are making staged payments there would be a possible cash flow problem preventing them from paying their invoices on time.
