Bailiffs letter but NOT my debt!!!
Comments

It is a horrible feeling I know, worrying about what they could possibly do. But just remember you have rights and this isn't even your debt to begin with. As long as you never let them in then they can't do anything. Our mistake was letting the guy in the first time. After that they had the right to get in even if we refused in future. Have a look at the Baliff Advice Online site quoted above and find the helpline number and keep it to hand. If you have any bother if they turn up then ring it and speak to Herbie21 who will reassure you. We found out that most of what they had said to us was just lies and threats to try and frighten us.
In my case the guy didn't even turn up and hasn't done since! (and hopefully never will now we have a letter sent to them courtesy of Herbie!)0 -
how's it going? Did the guy turn up?0

Hi
Go through the same procedure but stop hiding upstairs.
I know he is your ex but just do not open the door and tell them he does not live there any more.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Dont open the door! I know it sounds silly but I worked for Rossendales in the past and if they so much as get one foot in your door the bailiffs will state they gained access to your property and would levy on any of your goods! wrong, but openly admitted by all of their representatives as they are commison based and get £1.50 a visit but upwards are £7.00 if they 'levy distress'.
I know its not the best way to speak to someone, but its the only way to keep youself secure.
Sounds like Rossendales returned the debts as unable to trace and the company has sent to eslewhere for recovery - just need to go through same process again I'm afriad.light bulb moment: 30.08.08!!0
