Hi - this is my first time on here, and I have no clue what I am doing in setting up my own website, so please be gentle with me.
What I want to do is to set up my own website to rent out my apartment. It will need pictures, text, booking calendar etc. And I want it to look as professional as possible and be easy to use. I also want to be able to link it to other sites for flights etc and be able to update it easily.
Any ideas where I should start??
Thanks in advance.

As a beginner, you could manage the pictures and text bit by yourself i should imagine... but to implement a calendar where people can place bookings online and link that to a website where people can arrange flights is a bit more complex... and on top of that you want it to look professional?
Even if you found a free server-side script to do it for you, you would still have to install and tweak it.
Static pages are easy... but if you are looking to do dynamic content with databases, some kinda front end administration area, or adding payment facilities...you arent gonna manage that without getting your hands dirty...0 -
Thanks for the advice newfoundglory - I think I will try with my free webspace initially and see how I go on.0
