Sardinia?

Hi has anyone been in early Oct, what's the tempreture? Also could you recommend a 3 bedroomed villa with a pool? We'll probably fly to Alghero.

There is a travel agent called http://www.justsardinia.co.uk/ that specialises in holidays in sardinia. I've never used them but friends of mine have used them in the past. There website seems to have a lot of information about it.
  • Excellent thankyou. Have you actually been?
  • bump, are we allowed to do this?

I used this firm some years ago. They were very good and use local staff (back then). We wanted to get the train from Alghero to the main inland town (name forgotten). The local rep said the station was at the other end of town but arrnaged to pick us up himself and take us to the station for the morning train. Food is a mixture of Italian and Catalan (Alghero is Little Barcelona) due to it being occupied many moons ago.

    Hello,

We went to Sardinia in May so I can't comment on the temperatures in October but I'm sure you can look these up. We went with Holiday Options and stayed in a villa at the Dune Village resort which is between Badesi and Isolo Rosso. This resort is excellent for children if you have any, with a full programme of entertainment and has 6 restaurants. If you're looking for a couple's break, the nearby resort in Isolo Rosso run by the same company (can't remember resort name sorry) is a luxury reosrt and is far superior in quality but no kids allowed. Car hire is essential in this part as places are far apart and public transport not great.

I asked my auntie the other day about Sardinia and she said it was amazing. Very nice beaches, lots of luxury places to stay and due to building laws, not over-developed. It's not the hottest of places, so you'd think to go during the height of summer, but then I think it's very busy with lots of rich italians. Also, much more expensive! I think October will be quite pleasant, 15-25c, I guess the sea would have warmed up a bit, but also a bit more rain. June/July/August would be the best months for weather.

My friend's Dad is Sardinian and owns a hotel in the west of Sardinia (he's over there at the moment actually) and also owns a travel agency. If you want any more information private message me as I don't want to spam the forum :D
  • hello, we are going to Alghero in sardinia in two weeks time. We have rented our appartment through www.holidaylettings.co.uk If you want a villa with a pool, you may have to go a bit further out of town. Try this site for accomodation I thought it was brilliant and will definately use it again.

Thanks we've had a look on there but can't find what we want at a reasonable price. We are looking for a 3 bedroom.
Please let us know what it is like there. Have a great time!
