Hi all, hope its OK to post here. I am looking for xmas temp work and was wondering if anyone knows what sort of hourly rate places like boots, argos, tesco, sainsburys pay???

I would say usually minimum wage or just above maybe £5.52-£6 an hour, depending on where you go. I find places tend to start advertising in Septmeber once all the summer temps are gone.

i just went onto their website and applied for xmas temporary staff jobs in essex and told them what store I would like to work in. Have to fill out a massive questionnaire though!!!!

Marks and Spencer are recruiting temporary Christmas staff to work through the night either in the warehouse or shop floor.

Go to marksandspencer.com/jobs and do a search for customer assistant roles and see what is available in your area.

THe roles seem to be for 20 to 30 hours a week and the contract is from 1 Sept 2008 to Jan 2009.

Probably couldn't do it if you had a fulltime day job but hopefully will help someone
