I should think there is nothing srong with either your dvd burner or your discs (assuming that they are blank dvd's and not cd's). What video's are you trying to save to dvd. If they are commercial dvd's then you have to use software to convert them for burning (which can not be discussed on here).
You will need to give a lot more information i.e. what type of video's are you trying to save, what format are they in, what type of dvd's are you using etc, before anyone will be able to help.I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!

you could try one of each,a dvd-r and a dvd +r,mine is acer and will play both but my sons will only play one kind.
You arent trying to write a dual layer disc with a single layer drive are you?
A lot depends on what you want to save and wether you have the software as already stated above.0
