The first thing to do is check out completed listings on ebay, that will give you an idea of what is popular and what is not.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If you have any antiques/collectables shops near you it might be worth asking them. I used to work in an antiques shop and we had people bringing things like that in all the time for valuations. I guess it depends on the owner of the shop, but we didn't used to mind doing them.0

well ive spotted a shop that buys /sells them and a newspaper ad as well
thing that worries me is if theyre worth decent money , they might bullshine me and say theyre worth pennys0 -
Look them up on ebay *and* ask for a valuation from a shop..if the prices are roughly the same then you have a good idea that you are not being conned.
However, it is worth noting that cards have greatly reduced in value recently, at a real auction I attended last week they struggled to sell them for anything over £10 a set (framed) which I thought was very poor.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Have a look at http://www.murraycards.com/ They specialise in cigarette cards0

I think it depends on what they are
anything with trains on is popular,
especially steam trains.
I had some a few years ago mine
all sold but the less ineresting ones
like trees, flowers etc went for 99p
did better with the topical ones
police,pop stars,space etc.It was
2005 when I sold all mine and I cant
remember what they finished on.:j:j:j0 -
Get the book Murrays cigarette card values - worth the investment. I bought a slightly older copy from Ebay for a fiver and it lists every set of cards from every maker ever! Gives full set price and individual card price. you will not make those prices on Ebay but I made £400+ from a £40 bicsuit tin full bought at auction.
