hi, hopefully someone might have sufferred the same problem and will be able to help!
i cant get my photosuite to install properly on vista. downloaded another version from the s.e website but my phone (w580i) is still not recognised.
anyway, i cant even get the pc to recognise the phone as a (if i remember rightly) removable storage device? thats what i did with a previous phone which i didnt bother getting the software for- just connected it to pc and did a file transfer.
ive tried loads of different things- after ages searching the net for answers!- but still no luck!
any ideas? thanks for reading.

for the file transfer, you should get a menu like this after you plug the cable into the phone with the cable connected to your computer.
just select file transfer and it should pop up as 2 drives.
you shouldnt need the SE software for a file transfer otherwise you may have a dodgy data cable/usb port0 -
thanks, the phone says 'preparing for file transfer'.....
but nothing comes up on the pc, it just doesnt recognise it. tried it in all the usb ports....

try cleaning the port where it plugs in.
otherwise, press windows key + r, type devmgmt.msc (to open device manager) & hit enter > click continue on the U.A.C. prompt > plug in the phone and look out for any unrecognised devices with a yellow ! next to them in device manager > if you do get one, click on it > drivers tab (i think) and click reinstall0 -

i have a w810i and trying to get it to work with the pc can be hard some times it plays up for no reason. however it does work most of the time straight away. the software may not always open by itself. try double clicking on the software icon to open it. mine doesnt have a sony photosuite, just software for importing music. you should be able to just use windows photo gallery to import photos. in the file menu it has an option called import from camera or scanner. just click on that and the rest should be straight forward. any software designed to import photos should work for you. i also have a hewlett packard and fuji software plus i also have adobe photoshop. i shouldnt really because they sometimes all come on and wont go away. they are all able to get photos from my phone though.0
