Current Account for 14 yr old - tips/suggestions?

Hi
My 14yr old daughter has just started a part time job and we would like to open an account for her to start saving. She would also need access to this account with a card (not debit ) so she can draw out the odd bit of money out for girlie things. Anybody got any suggestions?

For an account at 14, only with an ATM card, you could open a current account with Northern Rock (0.1%), A BarclayPlus account (4.5%) or Abbey 11-15 Account (8%)

Most accounts give out debit cards now for people aged 11+, these are Lloyds TSB, Halifax, RBS/NatWest, HSBC etc.

For saving, Abbey offers the best out of these, but these don't have any other benefits of joining up.

if she needs to pay money (cash) into her a/c she might want to choose a banks that convenient to her home.

With the Abbey one - one of family members already needs to have a current account with them. Just done one for my son;)
