Got a load of bargains at the sheffield meadowhall store today:
    2 pairs of speedo googles: £2.50 + £1.25
2 pairs cricket trousers gray nicholls junior £2.50 each
2 pairs of adidas swimming "boxers" junior £3.75 each
    1 pair speedo trunks age 10 50p
    1 speedo swimming costume 34" £2.50
2 wilson junior tennis rackets £1.25 each
1 adult diadora tennis racket £2.50 (original price tag £50)
1 pair nike total 90 football boots size 5 £5 (current style)

    Total just under thirty pounds.

Most people seemed to be buying box loads of stuff though.

Downside - had to queue over an hour to pay. All the staff were really nice and helpful though, amazingly so considering their jobs must be going.

They still had loads of red england shirts and blue man utd shirts for adults - mostly l and xl. Also Liverpool shirts. Boys silver england shorts and Newcastle shirts. Loads of sunglasses. Quite a lot of trainers and football boots. Also loads of gloves, shin pads, footballs and mens speedo swimwear. They kept putting out more stuff.

If you go to a branch try and go as a pair - one to queue and one to scout round. The very kind wife of the man queuing in front of me located the goggles for my kids by climbing in the window display to get them as I was on my own in the queue. Also take your own carrier bags as they seemed to have run out.

Was at the trafford centre yesterday and popped into allsport because they are closing down and getting rid of all stock. The place was chaos because there wasn't a huge amount of stock left, but they did have a large number of size 12 and 13 trainers and football boots left, all massively reduced. I got three pairs of brand new adidas trainers (rrp £60 each) and a pair of rugby boots (rrp £50) for a total of £18.50 :D . If you've got big feet get down there!

    :money: :money: :money:

As everyone seems to keep mentioning the sales in Allsports, thought I'd take a look yesterday, found some boys large Animal shorts marked at £20, seemed a bargain as had paid £40 for some last summer, then noticed a reduction label showing £10, but when I got to the till they were £5.00 - ds is very happy and so am I at not spending a fortune on his shorts like normal (to be fair he does wear shorts all year round!).
GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£400
  • Good bargain but i will have to fatten ds up as they are huge round the waist (or put elastic in the waistband)

My son is pretty skinny too, but just seems to like everything hanging off his hips - I've just had a look at them and they have a drawstring around the waist, just as well as he'd swim out of them if he ventured into water!

Allsports sport shop is closing down and the shop in the Trafford Centre is getting all the stock from the other stores and is selling it off at rock bottom prices.

They are getting different stock in all the time due to it coming from other stores but everything is 75% off.
  • is this still happening?
