Premium Bond win - does this look right?

Options
Morning all...

Sun is shining at long last here in the welsh valleys.:j

I won the grand total of £50 in this months draw and opted to receive any future wins in bonds. Actually, I'm having a really good run of luck with them having won £50 every month since December 07 (apart from April) on a holding of about £11,000ish.

Got my new bond certificate yesterday and I'm not sure they gave me the full 50 numbers or 49.

The last 4 digits are 4381 to 4430 now if you deduct the lesser one I make it 49. Are NS&I diddling me or am I being a bit thick? :o

You have 4381 to 4430 inclusive.

    4381 to 4400 is 20

    and

    4401 to 4430 is 30

    A total of 50 :)

    I couldn't possibly comment! ;)

I hate to say this, but if you'd placed £11,000 in a fixed term savings bond earning 6.5% last December, you would have earned slightly more in interest than you have won over the same period. ;)

Have you taken tax into account? No tax on premium bond winnings but savings bond interest would be taxable (depending on other income of course).

As soon as I'd had a cup of tea + come around a bit <tad hungover> I'd realised what I'd posted.

Yorkshireboy u r right it is inclusive don't know why I didn't think of it myself.

@ Hungerdunger yes you are probably right about the interest but I like the thrill of premium bonds ever since my nanna bought me £3 worth in 1967 (year I was born!) and I won £50 off them about 20 years ago. Have been buying them regularly since. I have a feeling in my water as it were, that one day, I'll strike lucky with a big win. Enough to whisk the family off to a superb hols somewhere I fancy Las Vegas!

Oh, well I can at least dream of it in the meantime...

    Yes

Welshmoneylover - I know what you're saying; just as long as you realise the average "wins" on Premium Bonds don't equate to what you might get with a good savings account. This article is worth reading if you have time.
