    Isn't 2.98% + £5 around 3% then?
I said (in my first post) "3% of the new balance". You're making the same mistake I made, hence my correction. ;)

There was already around £2.3K on the Virgin card. Op has now transferred another £2.7K, making the £5K mentioned in their subsequent post.

3% of the entire balance is £150

    2.98% of £2.7K is £80.46

Add a fiver, and this method gives £85.46 as the first minimum payment (because it's the lesser of £150 and £85.46).

Some of your comments have been blunt, just like the rest of us.
Karma is a wonderful thing. ;)
  • ah, must have missed that bit - I was just going on 2.98% being "around 3%"

  • Hi

I was wondering if you are aware Egg have now decided to charge for balance transfers from Sept. Is there another way we can carry on stoozing without the Egg Money card (apart from MBNA).

    Thanks muchly

The fee doesn't apply for BT'ing using +ve balances, according to post #7 in this thread, but even if it did you'd simply ask for a free BACS transfer out.

In other words, it's no change for the stoozer. :D
  • That's a relief!

    Thanks YorkshireBoy :T
