Yes, I'm one of the folk who took the time to confirm with Egg Money that there would be NO CHARGE for withdrawels from atm's when balance is positive.

Well you're just absolutely amazing then aren't you!?!

Perhaps Egg could have worded their new terms and conditions in a way that left no room for interpretation? That way we could all be spending the weekend in the park rather than on the phone to them... :T

I Agree this was not clear at first but a 'cash advance' was never likely to include money Egg owed you (i.e. against a positive balance); and why diss people for having taken the trouble to check this out immediately they learned of changes AND THEN INFORMING everyone else of the reply?

Personally I'd be greatful for that information since it saves you having close your Egg account outright for that reason alone - or at least gives you PAUSE FOR THOUGHT no?

    No foreign transaction fees

Can anyone recommend good credit cards for overseas use?

Egg Money has always had a foreign currency loading, they are just increasing it.

For overseas use, I have a nationwide, post office and the new abbey zero card all of which have no loading for foreign currency transactions.

Get yourself a nationwide debit card if you need to get cash out abroad, again with no loading.

    Cheers, Des.

We will not charge you a fee or interest for cash withdrawals when you have a positive balance. However, if a withdrawal gives you a negative balance you will be charged interest on the negative amount, and we will charge you a fee of 3% (minimum £3).
