This happened to my mates laptop so he asked me to take a look. I stripped it down and was gonna change the motherboard but I reseated the processor and bios battery and now it works fine so I believe it was the bios battery needing reseating.
Always looking for a bargain and to help

If you are going to get rid of it, at least take out the harddrive and put it into an external harddrive caddy.

  • Hi - similar problem.
My dog jumped up at me and I dropped a coffee mug ( luckily empty) onto the laptop and now there is no power whatsoever
Don't know what to do - try to get repaired? or claim on insurance?
It cost me £600 in 2004 but it looks like new as I have looked after it well.
(Apart from dropping a mug on it and now doesn't work at all! lol)
