Where to start?! I've been logging onto your site for over a year now after a friend recommended it. In the past week, however, it's been my first port of call to research all sorts of financial questions, and has saved me a fortune in my monthly outgoings. :A

After a complicated five-year, now resolved, divorce, I find myself financially free to choose a new mortgage. Your site has helped me find a great mortgage adviser who has secured me a mortgage offer with the Halifax, which is both more flexible and at a much better rate than the one I am currently obligated to. I will be able to save thousands of pounds and pay off my mortgage 4.2 years early if I take his most basic advice - and obviously earlier if I can afford to pay even more per month. For a one-off fee, he will return to me in two years (my tie-in period with the Halifax) to see if he can secure me an even better deal. (At this time, I hope to be able to tell him I've been a non-smoker for over 12 months - this will not only reduce my life assurance/critical illness monthly premiums by around £20, but I'll also be saving the £120 per month I currently set fire to!!!) :o

Next, I tackled my gas and electricity: by changing supplier, I've saved £5 per monthly direct debit.

My annual car insurance premiums were £339.31; shopping around via your site, I've reduced this to £215 - saving £124.31!! I used to pay the original amount by monthly direct debit of £28.27: your site advised to avoid this due to the interest rates charged. I paid the £215 via my 0% interest credit card for which I have a "tart alert" set up on your site to remind me to choose another interest-free card at the appropriate time.

I am still going to pay for home insurance via direct debit, however I've saved a whopping £19.55 monthly by shopping around for contents and buildings insurance, again via your site.

My bank was next: I've returned to a standard account rather than the platinum one for "privileged" customers which charged £15 monthly for that recognition!

The money I've saved is going to be put into an ISA or similar type of investment - I'm using your site to research this right now!

Thanks so much Martin - you're brilliant! :j
