I dont know but if you get tax credits/council tax you may get more money from them too
also free bus pass with a minder going free (contact council). Blue badge too again contact council (useful even if you dont have a car as its for person not the car)0 -
Not all councils do the bus pass or blue badge for lower rate mobility but worth asking
If you claim carers allowance you will get it taken off the IS but a premium added, basically works out about £27 a week better off
IS increase is now done via tax credits, contact CTC office and they will add the disability premium onto your CTC awardOne day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -

Yes you can claim carers allowance which will give you slightly more each week, you will also get disability and severe disability in child tax credits its around 3000 a year altogether, you will also be able to ask for help from the family fund for holidays washers dryers play equipment etc0 -

Ring tax credits asap it wont take long to sort out, like lil_me said carers is deducted from is but you are given a premium and this will increase what you get each week. You would be better off getting a letter from your daughters consultant or gp to send to council to state how it would benefit you having a blue badge for your daughter as you dont get one automatically on low rate mobility. If you dont drive , the family fund paid for my driving lessons and tests , it was 32 lessons and two theory and two driving tests when i di mine that was 6 years ago.0 -

check this out i have been looking around and depending on your childs age and disability if you get high rate care you could argue that you are entiltled to high mobility0 -
Depending on your income (I am solely on benefit at the moment) the 2 disability premiums payble on CTC in this situation is £273 per month.Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0

OOps I got them two mixed up Its the higher rate mobility you get the aboveNot all councils do the bus pass or blue badge for lower rate mobility but worth asking

we got a blue badge when on Incapacity Benefit and kept it when transfered to low level DLA mobility so definitely worth asking your council - they may want a support letter from your GP if not on higher level DLA0

yes you can get extra tax credits. my eldest son used to have same level as you. i couldnt get a blue badge though usually you only get that if you get the high rate mobility. but some councils make exceptions depending on circumstances.
he got it for severe adhd. but as he has left home and is over 18 he no longer gets it. you will get the disability premium on tax creds and severe disability if you claim carers allowance, they will take this out of any income support that you may or may not get. it will be extra money if you have a parftner working so well worth claiming it if only to get severe disability premium.
if your your child has a learning disorder you will also be able to get a buspass for her and one carer. with a letter of confirmation from your gp or school statement. if she is statemented.
you can also get help from the family fund. for extra expenses like holidays washing machines dryers driveing lessons etc.
also dla is not a means tested or taxable benefit so is not counted as income in anyway towards any other benefits. its basically not counted as income in any way.
you may also be able to get extra houseing benefit too if you are renting. so worth mentioning to the council that you are getting dla as it does affect the total amount of benefit you get. there is a disability premium with houseing benefit. you wont get less but you may get more,
so its all good and totally in your favourstarted comping september 2008. september win 100 pounds love to shop vouchers with muiller. october win field maple and garden tools.0 -
In our area you don't have to be on DLA to get a blue badge, but you also can't get a buus pass unless the person has a severe mental problem as our 5 year old has autisim and they refused saying his mental ability wasen't severe enough, but the puss pass is only for the person who has it to go free no carer with it.0
