Could someone please give me a indication of the amount of IS i will receive with the following criteria:
I'm a Carer for my mum (receiving carers allowance)
I have a partner
I have one dependant (23 months old)
No savings etc
No other income aprt from Housing Benefit.
I understand you cant give a exact figure but could someone give a rough idea how much we should expect?
Many thanks Paul

Hi Paul, does your partner live with you and if so does she have an income?
If you claim I/S your carers allowance will effectively be halved, you say you only have H/B as income,no child benefit or child tax credits?
I`m afraid we need far more info to give you answers or you could try entitled to0 -
Probably the best thing to do is to enter your details into the following website:

then you will get I/S as a couple(around £90 per week)continue to get c/b and ctc, also full council tax benefit,do you own your home or rent it and if rented is it council or private?if rented you will get H/B or LHA
I/S also gets you free dental treatment, free prescriptions, free eye test plus voucher towards glasses0 -
Tried entitled and the figure seems very low around 70 ish pounds per week. ??0

It also depends on both your ages as different rates are applicable.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

Your partner may need to claim JSA for you both, then of course they would deduct the CA from that and add the CA premium. CTC would be payable for the infant so £70 ish per week sounds about right (couples allowance, minus Carers allowance, plus the CA premium)One day I might be more organised...........

GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
