Canal boat breaks

Hello,
I wondering if anyone been on a canal boat hols, any recommended (dog friendly) companies? or ones to avoid?
Whats the better canals to goto in UK (september/october)?

We've just got back from a canal boat holiday, I think it's worth trying but we will definately not be doing again - it was soooooooooooooo boring.

Anyway, we used Viking boat hire from Gailey on the Shropshire Union, the boat was fantastic and although they are not the cheapest we could find we used Tesco vouchers which made them cheap. They also allow dogs as well.

Hope this helps a little and i hope you enjoy it more than we did.

I am looking for one in the south East (not Basingstoke Canal) that takes dogs. Did you go on a trip Evilgoose.

I don't understand the pricing on these sites. Appox how much will it be for a weeks July holiday (pre school hols.) with a 4 berth canal boat on the Norfolk broads?
