So what's the best student credit card?
Paying monthly bills is not a problem, however benefits from online purchases is a huge incentive.
Thanks,

When i was looking i found that it was a case of who was willing to give me one rather than getting the best deal. Even the Halifax (who i have my Student Account with) weren't willing to give me their Student Credit Card based upon my lack of Credit Rating.
But i found success in the Capital One Classic Card:

The Interest rate isnt anything to rant about but its a start
Ive been very happy with it.
Started out with only £100 credit limit but after my first purchase it was upped to £400, which personally for me is just right as it means i dont over spend

egg money gave me one even though i didnt have a credit rating, with a £500 credit limit and 1% cashback!0

sweet, thanks for that.
I'm actually on an industrial placement this year, so with a regular income (up until Summer 2009) hopefully more banks will open their arms and treat me to some interest free periods.0 -
My niece also swears by Capital One.0

This has just reminded me that NatWest gave me one when I opened a student account when I went to uni. I didn't even phone up to activate it

Careful, they might change it back to a current account without notice when you graduate and reduce your overdraft. You should check their policy.
Thanks for that I'd been meaning to check that for a while.
Only gone into my overdraft once so far though (when rent was due the week before my loan came) so I hope it won't affect me!0 -
The only cc I would suggest is a pre-pay... been there, have the debts, dont get a credit card.Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!0
