From reading the posts on the other site, I believe that the person who is selling the items is emigrating, so is having a huge clear out. Sorry can't be of any further help but I thought that it might be of use to someone.

    Batteries
    Stationery
    Pencil cases,
    Sweet bowls,
    Cots.
unusual to have so many of each that you would include them in a list of house clearance items.

Hmm,do we suspect another of those fly by night 'auctions' where they need heavies on the door?

Knowing where it is, that just made me laugh! Can't quite see it being anything like that.

It isn't by any means a large hotel, more Fawlty Towers than Hilton Towers. I'm guessing it will be two tressle tables of goods. The bogus auctions would tend to include computers and electrical goods before they mentioned pencil cases.
