Which credit cards do you have at the mo?People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0

If I were in your shoes I would get a triple credit report from checkmyfile.com and then see what cards they recommend given your credit score. That way your application is more likely to be accepted.
If you are looking to get the best mortgage deals, then using credit will actually push your credit score up. Credit cards damage your rating if you fail to keep up with minimum payments, but increase it if you consistently use them and are never late in paying.
Does that make things clearer?0 -

CheckMyFile is expensive and you'll get most data from CallCredit, a bit less from Equifax and only publically visible data from Experian.
Credit reports, when ordered directly from the credit reference agencies, are more valuable. This, after all, is the information UK lenders see, when you apply for new credit facilities. (For help, see the *How to obtain credit reports* sticky.)
This info's available for £2 per paper copy tooPeople who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
