Bank account closure

Last year, due to relationship breakdown, i got in to financial difficulties, and as I was also devastated did not really take much notice of what was going on with my bank account.
My bank said that if I didn't pay a certain amount to bring account back in credit, my account would be closed. I borrowed money to do so, but when I went in to the branch to pay it, was told some more charges had gone through, and would need more. Luckily my sister was able to pay the extra. After we had handed the cash over, they then said the account would be closed anyway. We enquired about changing it to a basic account and this was also refused.
A year on with my life more sorted, looking back I wonder whether this was right on their part, as I did as they requested. The fact that they actually closed the account has really badly affected my credit rating for a long period of time. Can I complain about this?

I doubt you can complain, it would serve little purpose. Banks don't have to do business with you which is fair enough. What can you say? 'They asked for their money back and i'm not happy!!'. Yes they were sneaky. As to the credit rating issue I assume missed payments so surely the credit rating issues are justified. No offence intended.
I would concentrate on getting the charges back, plenty of info on this site!!
Don't get mad, get even!!!0
