I've got a Sony DCR-HC44E camcorder which uses mini tapes.
Does anyone know of any free software I can use to edit the tapes.
I mainly want to edit and transfer the videos to DVD.

If you have Vista you can use Windows Movie Maker which will also create a DVD.
With XP there is no built in DVD burner so you would have to use a third party programme. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I had software with my sony camera which was ok. The windows XP movie maker is also pretty good considering its a value added app with windows.
Dont know if relevant to you, - My camera is a little old now so was only USB 1.1 or firewire, its was restricted to the resolutioon it would download at with USB so I bought a firewire cable and it upped the resolution.0 -

Not quite right. It is Windows DVD Maker that creates the DVD. That is only included in Vista Home Premium or Ultimate. Forget it with XP unless you have separate software, such as the add on or a full version of Nero.0 -
