Apologies if this is in the wrong place...........
Living in a flat and working from home things are becoming a bit squashed!! A garden room would be a good way of extending my space without having to move BUT having looked into them, the cost is way out of my budget:eek: Is it possible to modify a summer house or other sort of building? What would I have to remember.......... I know about the sizes and whether or not I need to get planning permission. I know they have to be well insulated - how well and with what? Electricity and heating? Security shouldn't be too much of a problem as the only way into my garden is through the flat. What about the base - would concrete be ok?; Anyone have any ideas??:D

Flats have no permitted development rights, therefore all outbuildings will require planning permission, irrespective of size.0

Hi, does it make any difference if it's a house conversion of 2 flats - one up, one down?~A mind is a terrible thing to waste on housework~0

Unfortunately not, as a maisonette is classed as a flat. Householder permitted development rights do not apply to flats or maisonettes and only apply to terraced, semis and detached houses. Sorry!0
