Hi all
I've just transfered my egg card to 0% on Virgin for 15 months and am wondering whether to close the two egg accounts I have with no balance on. I currently have the following cc accounts open:
Halifax - Limit £8000 - 0% runs out Jan 09 - Balance £7500
HSBC - Limit £500 - 0% runs out Jan 09 Balance £400
Virgin - Limit £7500 - 0% runs out Nov 10 Balance £7200
Egg Money - Limit £10000 - Balance £0
Egg - Limit £8000 - Balance £0
Goldfish - Limit £3750 - Balance £3200 (This is my sister's debt - not mine)
Should I close both Egg accounts to improve my chances of getting a good card and limit in Jan when I next need to transfer a balance? Is there any benifit in keeping the Egg cards open?
Thanks for your help.

Do not close the Egg Money card. Although it doesn't offer any 0% deals (never heard of any recent ones anyway), it's a very useful card to hold...even though they're currently increasing the typical rate to 12.9% APR. You might want to lower the limit though?
Re the Egg Card (Visa)...do you have any anniversary offers to come? They do also offer the occasional special offer (0% to 3.9%/5.9% etc). However, if you want the (near) certainty of 0% then perhaps it's better to close that one and go somewhere else?0 -
The egg card will have a 5 month 0% anniversary offer next month, but I don't have any balance to transfer to it so I'm probably going to close that account.
If I lower the limit on the egg money what do you suggest? £5k???Save me from spending...
