Builder quote

We have been quoted £2300 to have the following done:

Lay patio (approx. 30m2)
Lay shingle driveway and path (approx. 18m2)
Edge driveway
Shorten front wall by approx. 50cm (take 50cm off the length. The height is approx. 1.2m)

We have to supply patio slabs and shingle, the rest will be supplied by builder. He will be working on his own.

Driveway is concrete at the moment, path is concrete slabs.

What do you reckon? How long should this job take?

Any advice would be gratefully received. We live in the SE of England (Sussex) if that makes any difference.

Only way to know is to get at least one other quote.

Is the guy going to dig up the concrete driveway first?

I reckon about 5-7 days.

as wildmandy says at least one other quote ( three is really good , and it is costing you nothing) get them to explain how they will achieve the end result.

If you can try and build a good rapport with them, because you might need them again for something else and a good builder is sometimes hard to find.
