Unbelievable - lengths some people go
Not much of a "length" for me to be honest.
Newsagent is quite close and I visit a greengrocer, a supermarket and the post office in the same precinct anyway. Most days I have several newspapers, worth approximately £20 a week, and an occasional magazine. Well over £1200 worth a year and given I've not parted with actual money for a newspaper or magazine in well over 4 years that equates to £5K+.
I get all the newspapers with the free CDs & DVDs (you should see my audio & film collection) or those with more coupons. A fair proportion of those coupons for printed material (like those mentioned in my previous post) are "reserved" to give to my newsagent for buying more printed material. Any surplus to requirements and "non newsagent viable" coupons usually get used in Asda or Tesco saving a truly significant amount off my shopping.
The other vouchers like those in today's Express (and those over the last few weeks) are gratefully received and easily redeemable.
A Lloyds pharmacy is about a 2 minute walk from where I live and I pass it on the way to or from the newsagent. A Co-op is about a 2 minute detour on the same route. Focus DIY is about a mile away and if I visit it I use the opportunity to call in at Morrisons and Lidl and buy a few store branded products that are obviously obtainable nowhere else.
Just this year Focus have "FREEly" provided about £250 worth of plants. Fuchsias, roses, bedding, etc for all my tubs, planters and hanging baskets. Also tomato, pepper & chilli plants, some herbs and other "edible" offerrings.
Lloyds have GIVEN us all the sun tan lotion we've needed for the last 7 or 8 holidays and we've another 7 or 8 weeks worth for BOTH of us in stock. That's about fifty 200/250ml bottles in total normally costing £5 to £6 each. Additionally we (and our Great Dane) have been munching our way through about a 5-year supply of Glucosamine tablets, 2 down 3 to go, COURTESY of Lloyds. Dozens of boxes at £14.99 !
We both adore cooking so today's goodies of 8 totally free Mexican Fajita Spice mixes will definitely come in handy, save me going to Asda and BUYING something comparable.
Similarly Body Lotion is on our shopping list. Getting it FREE is a BONUS !
And the best bit - used £5.60 coupons to buy the papers and now I've got £8 of them as replacements.
And I didn't have to go to any "length" to get them at all.

Its still unbelievable...0 -
If you can save yourself or your family a good chunk of change, why is it so unbelievable? I stopped and picked up a paper myself today when I was out. Took me about 90 seconds and a 10 metre walk from the bus stop.
Everyone's free to their own opinions, but taking a swipe at those who disagree with you on this issue seems petty.Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win. - Jonathan Kozol0 -

I think Quoia thought you were having a DING at her.
Personally, I have saved hundreds and hundreds of pounds using MOC, buying papers with MOC to get more MOC and freebies. Quite often my whole office will get a free paper after I have cut the coupons out, and it really isn't much effort.
GO QUOIA I say :T0 -
Wasnt having a DING... I just couldn't believe one could go to such lengths or be as canny as this. Not being petty but there is a bit of self respect to be had here. Put the matter to a rest... lets be nice. Quoia nice 1!0

Thing is Mr Helpful your posts have not been helpful, and I don't think you have the right to talk about self respect when you don't know someone or their circumstances. For many of us it's a bit of a hobby, coupons, tesco points, freebies. It may seem sad to you but live and let live unless you have something positive to add.
Just my opinion0
