  • Yep - as far as the dial-up modem in your laptop is concerned a phone line is a phone line.

    I know with wanadoo that you register your number and can only dial from that one (for the anytime service). If you are on a dial up 1p per minute sort of thing, then that would work, but anytime type deals would have your number registered against them.
  • some Isp's use cli to make sure your using the phone line youve signed up from.
    You didnt have to with BTinternet.

    cli caller line indentifier

    you could try 141 then dial to see if it works from your own house first !

    NO!

    If you use the following Tiscali access packages;
    Anytime
    Daytime
    Daytime Plus
    50/100
    Offpeak
    Surftime
    You can only access the Internet from the telephone number you provided when you joined Tiscali.

    If you change your telephone number, perhaps because you have moved home or changed your telephone company, you need to let us know your new number so we can change our records. Otherwise you will find that your connection will not work. (Remember that you need to have a BT phone line to use all Tiscali packages apart from Pay As You Go).

    To change your number either;
    use the form below, or;
    call us on 0906 300 6633 (Calls to this number are charged at 50p per minute).
