So Abbey have set things straight (eventually) and offered you £50 for your troubles. Amex have offered to pay all the charges you incurred plus £10.

Seems like a reasonable response to me. Out of curiosity, how much 'more' are you after from Amex?

While i can't hold AMEX responsible I had to travel from work to pay for my OH's fuel and give her some cash for lunch while at work.

So £10 seems like nothing when i had to make a 66 mile round trip!

I turned the £10 down before I even knew abbey would pay £50.... so as far as i was concerned i was getting £10 for what turned out to be a massive fuss for me!
