Just wondered who I complain to about the bad services of a mortgage broker? I looked on the FSA website but didn't see any complaints section so think that can't be the correct body.
Basically one of the advisors has made a big mess of my mortgage application and dragged it out for so long that EVERYTHING is ready and waiting for the mortgage offer to come in(there has been a lot of other dodginess but too complex to explain)!!!
The top man at the office has been very apologetic and offered to only charge me £250 instead of £500 but I begrudge paying them ANYTHING after how crap they've been. I want to threaten them with complaining to someone but I don't know WHO!!!!!

You could start by asking the mortgage broker who would be the appropriate independent person to complain to................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0

Look on their letter head paper. Usually at the bottom will be the "regulatory statement" which will say who they are regulated by. But first you should go through the complaints procedure with the firm themselves - i.e. make a formal written complaint to the proprietor or managing director and give them the option of sorting out your problems. It is far better to deal with things as they happen rather than complaining after the event.0

Hi,
You should have been given an Initial Disclosure Document or IDD at the first meeting you had with this firm. On the very back page it will give you details of who manages the particular firm's complaints.
Following the new legislation laid down for mortgages 1/11/2004 any complaint must follow a process which the company are legally bound to follow. If they don't they are breaking the law!!
Check out this link http://www.mortgagesorter.co.uk/mortgage_broker_regulation.html
It gives details of the FSA proceedures and the Financial Services Ombudsman contact links.
If you don't find what you want there come back here and ask for further help.
I agree that you should not pay anything to them if you are not satisfied.
Hope this helps
