calling all nut allergy sufferers - perhaps you can help me out.
I'm currently pregnant and having massive peanut butter cravings. It doesnt help that my two kids love it so its always sitting in the cupboard. I know I'm not supposed to eat peanuts during pregnancy and was wondering if you can get butters of other nuts that taste the same sort of thing? As far as I'm aware it's only peanuts that cause a problem?
Thanks

If you are avoiding peanuts to prevent a possible allergy in your child, I would also avoid all other nuts.
I ate peanuts in pregnancy (it was before all these warnings) and my youngest is allergic to walnuts but not peanuts.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I ate peanuts and cashews during my pregnancy as it was just before it was common place to be told not to eat nuts.
DD (12) just diagnosed with severe allergy to walnuts, cashew, hazelnut and brazil nuts!
I don't know what the current thinking and advice is but I think that it may be along the lines of avoid nuts if you have a family history of allergic reactions - you really need to ask your mid-wife what the latest thinking is.7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0
