Hi,
I made a short video using windows movie maker and downloaded the (windows audio/video) file onto a dvd- rw.
It plays fine from the dvd drive in computers but when I pop it in a dvd player it will not load. Just shows "unknown disk". I have tried it on various dvd players and same prob.
Am I saving the video file in the correct format?
Please help
Steven

It could be that the players you are trying it on are all DVD- format. As far as I know players are generally either DVD+ or DVD- hence the different discs. You need to ensure the disc you are using is for the player it will be played on. I understand (to make matters worse) that some RW discs do not play on some players. I would find out which your player is, ie + or - and then just use a DVD-R or DVD+R and not RW. Does that make sense?0

Windows movie maker can't make DVDs suitable for playing on domestic DVD players, you need a separate DVD authoring package to do this.
Have a look at http://www.papajohn.org/ to find everything you ever wanted to know about Windows Movie Maker. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Had another look, you need to use something like Sonic MyDVD, which will convert either WMV or DV-AVI files for burning onto DVD.That gum you like is coming back in style.0
