I don't think Halfords list them online. They are grey and £14.99. All the writing and instructions are in Japanese.
    Thanks for that.

Just rang my local store and they say they don't sell anything like that.... bummer. Did you get yours recently, or do you know the manufacturer as perhaps my description was no good?! Might phone the other halfords store a little further away as it's bigger, perhaps more choice.

Edit.... is it the same as this? (bottom of page)

It's not that one on the Speeding site.

Ask the Halfords people if they stock a grey fold down table that attaches to the rear of the front seat. It's not just a table but a tissue box and accessories holder. The main thing is that it's a Japanese product and all the info is in Jap.

I'll post a pic of it tonight when I get back from work.

I'd be tempted to do it overnight, which is what my parents used to do. Wake them up around 10pm and bundle them into the car and hopefully they'll nod off again. Take turns driving so you're not shattered on the first day of the holiday.

I'd second audio books too, as long as it's not something that's going to drive you up the wall.

Too late re timings, we're all booked up for the 9am crossing so they'll be wide awake and raring to go :rotfl:
  • does anyone else feel this is too much for kids? I was just told to behave and got on with it. Seems like kids need entertainment all the time these days.

Maybe i just wish i was a kid with all these gadgets

Thanks again - I rang the other branch who were much more helpful and she said she knew they stocked a few tables and trays and went off to check the stock. Turned out that the only thing they have in stock is a tiny little drinks tray thing

Perhaps I'll actually drive down to the nearest branch and take a look for myself.

Actually I've seen this snack and play travel tray that attaches to car/booster seats, that looks pretty good, plus I like the fact that it collapses in an impact, but it's just the delivery aspect as running out of time now.

Yeah, I know what you mean - although I'm guessing my parents would probably say I was moanier than I remember being! To be fair, my two probably wouldn't be that bad, but I do think it would be easier if they had some colouring books or toys to entertain them. Especially as the driving can be pretty stressful and a toddler bawling in the back can be quite a distraction I can tell you. :rotfl:

I've found someone who can send the snack and play tray to arrive Wednesday, so I've gone for it, no need to post a pic vikingaero - but thanks for the offer. Will take the ELC one back, apart from it not having a lip to contain the pens, it has got a really strong chemical smell that DD thinks is revolting and I can imagine might induce travel sickness.

I agree that sometimes it is an overindulgence. But when you realise they've been quiet for a whole hour it's worth every penny.

When I was younger the furthest my Dad took me was to Windsor Safari Park. But our two monsters have travelled by road to 90% of European countries and we cover far greater distances than when I were a lad [insert misty eyed Hovis scene].
