morning all - i hope that someone can help. My mums hair has gone completely grey now and i would love to buy her some hair colour (from Boots of course!) - so that she can have 'permanent natural black' hair again, she's never coloured it before but would like to use a 'straightforward/easy to use product' - no mixing/just apply from tube - leave it on- and just like magic-natural black hair!!

Could any of you lovely ladies recommend any tips/the best/effective products?? would be really grateful for any help - thank you!!XX[/quote
my friends are hairdressers and would not recomend this, its very difficult to go very dark on grey hair, if she really wants it would go to the hairdressers . but must people suit a lighter colour has they get older what about some low lights to start off. some big boots have hair specialist that you can talk to.
    IT'S ALL ABOUT ME!!!:j:money:
  • Hi money savers,

I had my first proper trip to my big Boots yesterday and did quite well thanks to all the tips.:j I couldn't wait to get home to show DH all my bargains but he was not at all interested! Well I had to share my excitment with someone!

Shop was well stocked with Lynx, Mitchum and the TS stuff and the No7 £5 mascaras. Managed to get another HB mag as well.

I can see this becoming an addiction ;)

Has anyone come across any glitches with Boots online? I have had 2 in the past. Once I ordered an £80 item. I took it back to the store as I decided I didn't want it and they refunded me. Then I get my bank statement and they've only refunded me from Boots direct too! :j Next one they were having 20% off baby stuff and I ordered a double buggy. Should have been £168 after discount and it took off ANOTHER 20% so I ended up paying £135.

    I love Boots <3

Hello children, I was wondering if anyone could help me find an eyeshadow (or any kind of eye colour; cream, pigment etc but not liner) to match No7 Stay Perfect in the colour below (and here). For those who haven't seen it, it's much more vibrant and lighter than the pic. Was looking at the No7 eyeshadows to use with the pinky but they don't have anything like it.

Just because I was looking at the superdrug website (sorry, sorry! Just out of curiosity!) and they've used a very similar thing here:

    cat-beauty.jpg

which looks fab. I don't have many bright eyeshadows but I tried recreating it by mixing a bunch together, then put the eyeliner on the top and below, but it doesn't look as nice really:

It does look quite similar in the photo (I also tried squinting like the model did :p), but you can see how the eyeshadow doesn't blend with the liner very well (and in the superdrug pic they only used liner underneath) and it's more apparent in real life. MAC probably do one in the same colour but I was looking for something I could get in Boots, of course ;)

Has anyone seen anything like the shade in the s****d*** pic? Buffy, queen of makeup, you must have/have seen something like this right? :D

Wow:T I think your version is better than the model picture.
There are 2 similar shades in boots-have a look at the loreal eyeshadows in the platinum range (£4.99 each) or the barry m shadows in pots which are very very similar to mac.Your eyecolour is lovely,I have boring brown eyes:rolleyes:

i'm after buying a pram on online from boots,im in the pc club and i havent ordered from there b4, its 47.99, is there any codes going about for extra points etc and could anyone suggest a shopping list to boost points etc, open to all offers :)

    tia

Do you need anything else? If you spend £50 you can get 500 extra points using a code, I posted one that worked for me on the Boots codes thread yesterday.

Until 21st August you also get 600 points added automatically if you spend £60. Yesterday I spent £71.99 and got over £14 worth of points.

It might be worth your while ordering a bit more and getting the 1100 points (500 + 600).
Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!
  • im off to boots shortly to get some TS stuff...wish me luck!

  • Did my first ever bootsing shop yesterday after a few weeks of lurking.

Got 3 x Mitchum vouchers for £6.35 the SA started taking the two lots of vouchers and then it ended up Boots owed me money - AMATEUR! So she got a team leader who said I could only use 1 of the 2 for all 3. So ended up paying £1.20 for 3 Mitchum and got both the till £5 off facial and £5 off No 7.

Then went and got the No 7 GWP bag and 2 x tan mainters on BOGOF. Total was £10 and GWP went through and then gave £5 No 7 voucher and got it for £5 and got 2 more £5 offs

My OH was slightly cringing but then he saw 2 discarded £5 off facial receipt on the floor and was quite proud of himself! So I spent £6.20 and have lots of goodies plus 3 x facial till spits and 1 x No 7 voucher left to spend!
I miss using my infinite coupons at Tesco!
2010 was the worst year ever :(
But 2011 so far has been a lot of fun! :j

I notice that a common problem when quoting is that part of the quote code is getting cut off, and the text from the person you are quoting looks like part of your own message. It's a little confusing at times, and has you reading the quoted area when you actually just read that message and could've skipped to the reply sooner if you'd realized it was a quote.

I'm not saying this as a slam to people who have trouble with quotes, but I thought I'd show you a simple way to see if you have quoted properly and how to fix it if you haven't.

If in doubt, preview your message before you send. It will show you if you have a quote box there. If it didn't quote properly, look back at the box where you typed the message. You almost surely have cut out one of the brackets (open bracket: [ and close bracket: ]) around the quote command, and just need to paste it back in. For example, if it looks like this:

    QUOTED TEXT [/quote

...what you need is a close bracket behind the word quote at the end. I just copy the close bracket from the first quote command and paste it where it needs to go. You've also got brackets on your keyboard to type in, but I use them so rarely that I can copy and paste faster than finding them. Hth someone! :)
