How long does gingerbread keep?

I'm thinking of doing some gingerbread men for my niece and nephew to put in with their Christmas pressies.
Problem is my mum is picking up their presents the week before (they are over a 100 miles away - I only tend to go every other Christmas as have hubbys family to consider too)
If I put them in cellophane bags would they last until Christmas, or will I just have to think of something else???

I have no idea, and googling didn't really help much either, so I've gone to the fount of all wisdom when it comes to cakes and biscuits and asked on the Be-ro site since they only seem to give info on freezing.

I would wrap them in greaseproof rather than put in a plastic bag and they will keep for a good few weeksI haven't got one!0

Direct from Be-ro on their contact form is the following answer:-I have checked all of the recipe books and only one actually gives a length of time for storing which was for 1 week. I would have thought that if stored in an airtight container (when they are cold) they would have lasted (which Christmas is only about 6-7 weeks away). However, the thought of receiving Gingermen biscuits as a present for Christmas should be delightful.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Thanks all, think I'll do a trial run (hubby will be quite pleased at that) and see what happens with both the cellophane and greaseproof paper (perhaps I can decorate that), if they fail I'll resort to an airtight boxful for them to share.Pay all debts by Xmas 12 # 072 £1201.79/£15,105.68:eek:
