Can anyone decypher the student Finance website?

I have applied for student finance and am checking the website. Can anyone make sense of this? I am hoping it means I will get a loan of £3145 for my fee's plus the maintenance loan of £3470. Any other ideas?

The people on the phones for SLC are completely clueless. The guy I spoke to wasn't even looking at my details for the first part of the conversation, just going on what I told him.
The automated system told me "you have taken a fee loan of £3145" so i'm talking that as a good sign. Any help would be appreciated.

Assessment Status Approved .it means what it says... Approved!
fees will be paid - £3145 to uni for course fees.
Maintenance loan of £3470 will be paid 3 times per year.. you'll get a payment schedule soon (I'm still waiting for mine but it was posted on the 12th!)

did you not apply for the maintenance grant?
Light bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later date :o:D
now at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!
  • thanks that's what i was hoping. Yeah I did apply for maintenance grant but i'm not entitled this year as I have had two years of support on another course. This is better than I was expecting as i was thinking I would probably have to pay my tuition fees upfront. Loan is almost as good as grant in my opinion. As long as I get to finish the course and get a job I enjoy I don't care how much i'm paying back.

so is the maintenance grant only for 3 years of study?
so if you've had two years already then shouldn't you have another year left?

I'm new to all this.. starting the first year of study in sept 08.
    good luck with your course
