Sorry to hear what happened but can't believe you are surprised at it. All advice on this board is alway to have your wages paid into another account. Halifax are known to trawl the bankruptcy notices and knew about my bankruptcy before it was even listed on the Insolvency website. I'm sure I've mentioned this in on one of your other threads.

yes i know but the cut off point for my employer to pay my wages into another account was gone so i couldn't do that anyway.

it is all sorted now after so many phone call and trip to halifax.

fiveyearplan i wa surprised by my branch reaction the headoffice was fien with my request they even put a note authorising the debit , it is the branch which went all funny with me even after the OR sent the fax i had to ask them to ring they business centre to authorise the transfer.

Thats the experience of people on here - now yours included - that the branch and head office don't know what each other is doing and it was proven (unfortunately for you) to be correct advice. There was no doubt you would get your money its just the hassle and stress you had to go through to get it.

Think the key thing here is the £200 quote. The letter the OR sends authorising the release of the funds states that there there is x amount in the account (usually the figure you give on the SOA) and as long as there is not in excess of over £200, then ok to release funds. If more then £200 excess, refer to OR for more instructions.

But it wouldn't have happened if the wages went into a new basic account - that is my point.
