the title says it all went today at my branch to withdrawe my wages and closed down my bank accoutn at their request. i was told no sorry you can't withdraw we need a fax from the OR.... then i told them that they had received a letter from the OR last month saying that tmy OR has no interest into this account whatsoever then the OR did at the begingin of august sent them a fax saying that i was allow to withdraw all my wages ...

i even rang up last ninght their call centre to see if i wil be allowed to withdraw it they told me yes no problem come with yourt passport and your bank card etc....

but no aparently as it is over 200 pounds they won't allow it they want another fax from my OR. althoghu she is very nice she was a bit annoyed at them!

so no i am waitign a call back to see if they have received my FAx at 12.00 pm so i can collect my wages .... i am so fuming at them !!!!! :mad:

thanks whjy they have to be so ackward they are not even one of my creditor ! i have soem bill to be paid soon and won't be able until the bank release my wages !

They are covering their own backs - want to be sure that they won't get hauled over the coals. Most branches have no real experience of dealing with bankruptcies so are loathe to do anything that be considered 'wrong' by the Official Receiver, etc.

unbelievable after all the request i made to the OR before going there today, i felt like an idiot again to ring her up and say can u do once more a fax to them .... hwo the bank can waste yoru time and money i don't know ......

Mine was £175.60 - makes no difference, they want to be sure in what they're doing.

halifax bank are a spoonerism of waring bankers ,,,,,
they have the worst customer service on the planet they refuse to deal wit bank accounts in branch althought i have had it for ten years and its was opened in branch and is a branch based account

I really think this is an area that needs clarifying by the IS so that these situations don't keep happening.

tell me about it i am still waiting for my 50 pounds to have all my direct debit and etc... for opening an account with them !

they have mess me around so much truly awfull ! i do understand about procedure but when i follow each and every single one of them and confirm again with them over the phone that it is ok to withdraw it and stil refuse it i am sorry buit it is taking the pxxs ...
