tighter now with applications due to xmas

Does anyone feel that applying for cc now is more difficult due to shopping for christmas and sales will be starting soon? or is it easier? any opinions are welcome.

I doubt it will make any difference. Although card company may want to tempt people to apply, they will still only give cards to people with reasonable credit history.

The only difficult thing about credit cards and Christmas is paying the bill back after it's all over and you realise you bought way more than you could really afford.

My golden rule is to always pay for things with money you already have - if that means budgeting throughout the year then so be it.

Paying for Christmas on credit card plastic, unless you have a very well paid job, is never the best way to go, even with 0% offers around.

In the past applications in January/Feb have been more succesful than those before Xmas.
