Thought the old style board might be interested in this, it's a website of weird and alternative uses for everyday products.
It seems that vinegar is not the only thing that can be used in lots of different ways, for example : keep your valuables in a tennis ball, and cleaning the shower door with fabric softner. Some good advice and some plain daft, but a good read.

We've got a fair few of them - but by no means all. :)

    Interesting site.

The other day my oven broke, I had the oven repairman around and he had to change the heating element.

He gave me back the old one, which is an 8 inch diameter metal ring, and I told him I am going to cover it with greenery and make either a Xmas centrepiece (and stick candles on the element plugs) or a Xmas centrepiece, same way.

He said that I gave him a good idea and next time he has to change one of these elements he will keep the old one and use it that way - how's that for wacky and OS hehehehe

Few years ago, when I first came across that site, I gave my (adult) daughter a Christmas Gift of .... Bounce Dryer Sheets + a scroll (had a wax seal, ribbon, the lot).

She looked really bemused when she opened it ( ;) ) then unravelled the scroll, which was basically a list from that site of all the "wacky uses" for ... dryer sheets. Particularly highlighted was the part about using dryer sheets in trainers ... she has the stinkiest feet I've ever come across! :o;) :rotfl:

I use custard powder when I have no hormone rooting powder, for dipping cuttings in the spring and autumn. Don't know why it works, but it does!
