Setanta Sports - useless!!

If, like me, you are a former subscriber to Setanta, you will have by now received a tree's-worth of mailshots and enough emails advertising their "amazing special offer" to crash your PC.
Well, this week I actually had a closer look at one of their ads in the paper and realised quite a few of the England footie qualifiers were being broadcast on Setanta only (and not as usual on the BBC). We already pay £47 per month to sky and this gets us 1 mix, the Premium Sports Package (which doesn't include Sky Sports News, but don't even get me started on that), Sky + and multiroom.
So the additional £12.99 per month for Setanta would be pushing it. But with a babba on the way I don't fancy traipsing up the pub every time England are on, so when I received ANOTHER email this morning advertising Setanta at £6.99 for the first 3 months I gave them a call.
I told them about the offer, the girl who answered said "Sorry that offer ended on Friday". Did she mean today? God knows, but the email I received today stated that the offer ends tonight at 9pm. I told her this and she asked me for a promo code, which there wasn't one. So she said no can do.
$od this! I thought, and said "fair enough, I'll leave it then". At which point she backpedalled, went to speak to her "Manager" and after 10 minutes on hold I was allowed to sign up for £6.99 for the forst 3 months (with a 60-day cancellation - must remember that in March!!).
Then she asked for the Sky viewing card number on the sky box which I wanted to receive Setanta on. I explained that we had multiroom, so it would be both. She said "Oh, in that case there will be an additional £2.99 per month for multiroom".
WHAAAAAT?!! So what do I pay Sky for?
I told her to forget it, but I'm just wondering, if I take the Sky card out of the box downstairs (which is a Sky+ box) and out it in the Sky box upstairs (which is not Sky+), will I be able to watch Setanta upstairs? I know we won't be able to watch 2 Setanta channels at once in each room, but the chances of us ever wanting to do that are non-existent anyway.
At least when Sky had their "monopoly" over the coverage we only paid one company! Now we pay a TV licence, Sky and Setanta to ensure we get full coverage of our national sport (sad, I know, but we love our footie in my house) it is a joke!!

I was talking to my hubbie about this, we have 3 children now and he said he didn't want setanta sports or even sky sports in the house as he never gets the chance to watch it, prefers the relative "quiet" of the pub, where he can actually enjoy the game!!Penny xxx
