When they come and switch the boxes over can I ask the tech guy to fit my HDMI cables up ???
do i take out the scarts and use the 2 hdmi leads instead ??
will the picture quality improve with them ??
wil lI need to adjust my telly as well ??
Im a bit of a novice really, be gentle..

We had VM last year and used the HDMI leads, they only had 1 HD channel at the time and i think that was a BBC channel.
hopefully the guys will do it for you, might have to make them a cuppa though0 -
does it make a difference picture quality wise with hdmi cables on the VM box
cheers0 -
Yes, HDMI is digital and therefore will give you a better picture quality than Analogue such as Component or SCART.0

thank you guys
ps....are the hdmi cables easy to fit ??
do i take out my exsisting scarts or leave them in and just add the hdmi leads ? ? ?
thank you0 -
HDMI cables are dead easy to fit, just like plugging in a scart. The reason i suggested letting the VM guys do it is you have to tell the box to send out the TV signal from the HDMI connection and not the scart lead.
Its not hard honest just a few presses on your VM remote0 -
wicked thanks0

I think my parents VM box came with a HDMI cable in the box. My Sky HD did as well.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep

Send the cables back. The virgin guy should provide you with a HDMI cable, they did me (you have to ask, some keep them and sell them on ebay).
You only need 1 HDMI cable for a V+ box, it has 2 scarts too and component but 1 HDMI. Why would you need 2?
Plug the HDMI in the V+ Box, then in to the TV. Put a scart from the box to the video/dvd recorder (not that you need it with the V+ feature) and you're good to go. I think it needs to go through scart to be able to turn on HDMI though. The Virgin guy will tell you... infact he should set it up for you, they did both of mine.Rich0 -
VM will supply you with HDMI cables if you ask.
My partner asked when ordering his V+ box and then rang up a 2nd time to make sure and they sent another in the post!
Just a note to people looking at buying V+
Its very good, but with only one channel for free, but more ar ebeing added especially if your a XL customer:A Carpe diem :AOfficial Market Maven
