How much is my car worth??

Im thinking of selling my car and don't know what to ask for it. I've been looking on Auto Trader and such like but there are none of mine ever on it! I've been offered £6,500 as a trade-in but that will only cover my settlement so im going to sell privately and use the extra as a deposit.

It's a 2006 Nissan Micra C+C Sport, with 24000 miles and no damage or marks on the body work. Was serviced a couple of months back too.
Can anyone help? My budget is tight and i don't want to be ripped off.

how much are they going for privately? it looks like somewhere between £7k and £7.5k privately? In reality, it's worth whatever someone is prepared to pay for it. seeing as summer is nearly over, it's probably not particularly desirable if you don't get rid of it pretty soon. Or keep it for a few more years and minimise your depreciation

It's worth £6.5K. You can try to get £7K private but you're pushing it.

what were you trading it in against? it may be worth just trading it in, but people seem confident in gumtree to advertise in for free, so try that for a week first. make sure the description is full and accurate, so it gives the prospective purchaser enough info to get them interested.

I was in a BMW garage looking at the 1 series. They are offering £1000 towards a deposit at the moment, but they could only get me £6500 for my car. Which i refused because i would prefer to sell it privately and have a bit more towards my deposit.
