Best 0% CC in the market for Shopping

this may sound a little daft, but here is the plan.

i'm planning to apply for 2 CC on the same day.
1st card for Shopping- looking for the longest possible 0% deal Any ideas- which card will be the best ??
2nd card for a Balance transfer- CapitalOne/ Virgin

My question is

I'm planning to do the online application for both cards on the same day. I haven't applied for a new C C for more than a year and have a fairly good Credit score. no adverse history and good payment records. no defaults.

is there a good time in the month I should plan this for. I mean towards the beginning of a month/ end of month and either the beggining of the week or weekend? i'm not desperate for the CC and can wait a while. I know it's a daft Q but I'm hoping that some one where would have thought about this before

If the card is "0% for x months from account opening" it doesn't matter when you apply.

If, however, it's "0% until 1st xxxx 2009", then apply at the start of the month. Beware though, that deals don't always roll over!

Any idea about what impact it would be if I make 2 CC application on the same day, say Wednesday 8am, is this a wise idea ??

Capital One are currently offering 0% on Purchases until November 2009, however the card requires an "excellent" credit rating and there are reports of people being isssued with a card with a shorter promotional period.

IMO applying for 2 on the same day is a good idea because it is possible that each application will not see the seach for the other application, whereas if you stagger them then the second application will see the search for the first application.

    Good Luck.

Just in case the second provider sees the first's search be sure to apply for the most important one first.
