Not sure if this has been posted before but for a long time when presented with a credit card slip,I simply checked the amount and signed.
Recently, I have noticed that a significant number of restaurants print your entire credit card number and expiry date...
For some reason, I assumed that all the cc machines hid a portion of your number but seems I was wrong.
A shredder has been placed on the electronics budget...

It is always safest to carefully put the receipt / cc slip away and then shred later.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

It is also possible for someone in the restuarant to make a note of the 3 fig number used to confirm "Card Not Present" purchases................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0

I am I superviser at a supermarket and this also happens in the store I work in... but not the copy you that YOU get, the copy that is given to the cashier has full number and expiry date on it, and it is possible for the cashier to print out as many copies as they want by cancelling the signature then re-inserting the card.
So all in all, the ONLY thing any cashier needs to do to fraud people, is rememebr the NAME on the credit card (and possible the 3 digit security number for some websites) - all the rest is on a piece of paper that they can happily take home with them without the store or the purchaser even noticing.0 -
Normally they will still need your Pin Number.
For CNP transactions ( Card Not Present ) goods will normally only be forwarded by post to the card owners stated address................................I have put my clock back....... Kcolc ym0 -

This is not true for all internet sites as far as I know.
If the person were to get this information and they had the equipment to integrate that information on a data strip card then they can use this card in certain stores which feature self-scan technology without any PIN code or signature as long as the overall cost of the transaction is less than £50, but there is no limit on how many transactions can be made each day.0
