Ordering NUS card when no longer a student??

I've recently graduated, and finished my uni course. However I received an email from NUS today to renew my NUS student card online for £10 or whatever it costs, or pay £25 for a 3-year card - which will be delivered to my door.
Do they check each applicant to see if they are still a student ??
I've gone through the renewal pages, and I can get right through to the payment stage without putting any details about my course ending date, or even what course I'm on.... ??
Just thought it was a bit odd that potentially I could renew mine for 3 years, despite having graduated ?

That's really strange. I've had an NUS Extra card for a couple of years now... and I haven't had a reminder email - you sure it's DEFINITELY from them and not some scam email, because it does sound odd that they'd offer you one when you're not a student, because they DO check these things...My On-going Battle with Student Debts (excl. loan)...Overdraft #1: -£1,400; Overdraft #2: -£400; Credit Card: -£1,4000

I work in HE and I'm sure I've heard that staff at the uni (i.e. not students) can buy a card. I'd recommend contacting NUS and checking just in case though as I've not done it myself :-)"According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway. Because bees don't care what humans think is impossible" Bee Movie 20070

It's definately authentic and from them. In my first year at uni I ordered it on campus, then in my second year you could renew online and get it delivered to the uni - then in the third they introduced an online renewing system and get it delivered to your home address or the uni.
I click on the link in the email - it already has my details and the current photo on my NUS card that is due to expire !!!
I wonder if I can order a new one by renewing it and getting it delivered to my home, despite being a graduate??

My one last year came in the post straight to my house ? Oh, maybe it's sent to the union and then forwarded to my house once they check ?
Seems such a strange process !

Hi, last year my NUS card was delivered straight to my house, direct from NUS. HTH0

It's a few years since I was a student, but I know I was still a member for 3-4 years after leaving, & until I joined another union, after which I just let it lapse. I imagine they are quite happy to take your membership dues - it's no disadvantage to have members who aren't students any longer - increases paper membership & the discounts you get don't cost them anything.0

Hmmm they have sent me the same mail. Is anyone else going to apply for the card even though theyve graduated?Green and White Barmy Army!0

I study through the OU and got mine sent to my home!
you had to enter your student info though.
I'll be a full time student in sept so I'm not sure what the process is this time.. have heard that it will go through the student union so I'm assuming it wont be sent to my house this time!?!
do you really want another student card?Light bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later datenow at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!0 -
I would LOVE another student card - I use mine all the time, at the cinema, restaurants, shopping - and soon I would have been using mine for xmas gifts !
I would definately pay £25 for a 3 year one if I was given the chance. I prob use my current one once a week, which expires in September I think.
If I could order one I would, but I don't want to risk getting in trouble as I'm no longer a student - and their T&C obviously state you have to be one ! lol.
