  • Oh go on, you all know it's really the glorious British offshoot of Banco Santander. Doubtless A&L will soon be heading the same way.

Woolwich becasue they do it every year!

Then you have Igroup (Cowboys), and the rest the sub prime lot that deserve what they are getting!

Kent reliant are pants and I never got on with Abbey but they are not as bad as people think.

I got on with Nationwide really well, but the rest of my office hated them!

I am enjoying life without the negative emails from any of the lenders though!!

Indeed. I have a complaint ongoing with them about a member of thier call centre staff who hung up on me becuase she couldnt answer the question I was asking.......I had to say it three times, she didnt know what to say so just put the phone down.......everything went wrong with them when they "outsourced".
No 'Outsorcing' at Nationwide. Everything is on house. The systems may be from the ark but the quality of the lending book is probably one of the best.

    Only bad risks will complain.
  • Len, my complaint is about them accepting a case at DIP stage, then accepting the full app, then instructing the valuer and the case still being ok, then being declined. All the way through they could have said no if they wanted to, but no, they left it until a month after applying.

I almost spat my coffee out when I saw that. That's made my day :rotfl:

  • I've got to admit, Nationwide do have a bad habit of doing a U turn on their decisions. If it went to DIP & a valuer was instructed, unless their was an issue with proofs or the valuation, how did they justify pulling the plug?

    Good old Nationwide.

    Good old Nationwide.

The point is they are not required to by any code of practice I know, more's the pity.

It's a shame that mortgage lenders application processing isn't governed by some such code. Maybe this is one the FS ombudsman should look at.

I have never had an issue with Nationwide. U-turns will become an issue with more and more lenders.
